Village Harmony Camp

2007

New England Adult Camp II

August 10-19

Led by Mary Cay Brass, Linda Hirschhorn, and Kathy Bullock.

As of 1/22/07, this session is FULL. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

Those who have been to Ricki’s Place in Ashfield have fond memories of luscious pot luck parties before and after concerts. This camp session will feature tunes to tickle the musical palette, as well. Mary Cay will concentrate on music from the countries of former Yugoslavia and will lead instrumentalists in a Balkan- and contra-dance band for folk dancing and to accompany some of the concert pieces. Linda Hirschhorn—who was a big hit last summer—will be teaching us folk song arrangements in Hebrew and Ladino (a combination of Hebrew and Spanish) and some of her own songs. Kathy Bullock will teach an engaging set of traditional and contemporary gospel music.

At Rikki Carroll’s house and barn and the Grange Hall in Ashfield, Massachusetts.

$675

Ricki Carroll’s House, Ashfield, MA.

Campers will be housed side by side in 2 houses on the quaint Main Street of town. With Ashfield Lake across the street a daily swim is only a few steps away. There’s a hot tub and sauna for night time relaxation and lots of room to just hang out. Rehearsals will be held down the road, in the Grange Hall, which has a hardwood floor and plenty of space with good acoustics.
